Tour Overview
This 8-day horse trekking tour takes you from the UNESCO-listed Erdene Zuu Monastery in ancient Kharkhorin into the stunning Orkhon Valley, past the dramatic Ulaan Tsutgalan waterfall, and deep into the mountains to the remote Khuisiin Eight Lakes — accessible only by horse or foot. Camp beside pristine volcanic lakes surrounded by alpine forest and wildlife, then unwind at the mineral-rich Tsenkher Hot Spring before finishing at Elsen Tasarkhai, Mongolia's very own "Mini Gobi." Daily Itinerary

Day 1:Kharkhorin Erdene Zuu Monastery
Erdene Zuu monastery was constructed in 15th century by Abtai Sain Khan using construction materials and stones from former imperial capital Karakorum. Visitors can explore temples, relics, and traditional architecture. This historical site is one of Mongolia's important cultural heritage and listed in UNESCO.

Day 2:Orkhon Valley
Orkhon Waterfall, also known as Ulaan Tsutgalan, is one of Mongolia’s most beautiful natural attractions.The waterfall plunges 20 meters into a volcanic basalt canyon. The Orkhon Valley has been a center of Mongolian civilization for centuries and is home to ancient monuments, including Karakorum ruins and Orkhon Inscriptions.

Day 3:Horse Trekking To 8 Lakes
Horse riding or trekking is the only option to go through these mountains. Shurank is one of the 8 lakes, we will be camping next to this beautiful sight.

Day 4:Horse Trekking to Shireet Lake
These lakes are the home to many species of bird and other wild animals like deer, bear, wolf and marmot.

Day 5:Horse Trekking to Buureg Lake
The Khuisiin Eight Lakes are a remote group of interconnected lakes in the central Mongolia. Formed by volcanic activity, they are surrounded by forests and alpine scenery. Accessible only by horseback or trekking, the area remains pristine. Visitors can hike, camp, and interact with local herders. This destination is ideal for off-the-beaten-path nature tours in Mongolia.

Day 6:Tsenkher Hot Spring
Tsenkher Hot Spring is a natural thermal spring located in Arkhangai Province, known for its mineral-rich waters and healing properties. The spring flows at temperatures up to 85°C and is believed to relieve muscle and joint pain. Surrounded by forests and rolling hills, the area offers a peaceful retreat.

Day 7:Elsen Tasarkhai, Mini Gobi
Elsen Tasarkhai, often referred to as the "Mini-Gobi," is a unique region of sand dunes located in the central part of Mongolia. Stretching over 80 kilometers, these golden dunes are surrounded by grasslands and mountains, creating a striking contrast in the landscape. Visitors can explore Uvgun Hiid(Temple), historical place where monks were hiding from Soviets at the time.

Day 8:Return to UB
