Traditional Mongolian Yurt or ger is a symbol of nomadic life and cultural heritage. Thousands of years mongolians have been using it because of it's practicality and it gives nomads shelter to hide from extreme weather while being able to move with it.

A Mongolian ger is a circular, portable dwelling designed to be easily assembled and dismantled. Its structure consists of a collapsible wooden lattice wall called khana, roof poles known as uni, and a central support with a circular crown called toono. These components are covered with layers of felt made from sheep’s wool and protected by canvas. The materials provide excellent insulation, allowing the ger to stay warm during Mongolia’s harsh winters and cool during the hot summer months.

About the Author

I was born in the central region of Mongolia and grew up in a traditional nomadic family, where I developed a deep connection with the steppe, nature, and Mongolian culture. Later attended the Green School Bali in Bali, gaining an international perspective and strong cross-cultural communication skills. While studying at university, I began working as a tour guide as a side project. What started as a small opportunity soon became a true passion.
